What is FireBloc Gypsum Board?

ireBloc uses a gypsum core reinforced with fiberglass. Gypsum contains chemically bound water, which is released as water vapour when exposed to high temperatures, while the reinforced core helps the board maintain its structural integrity during fire exposure.

The actual fire resistance of a completed wall or ceiling depends on the entire tested system, including the board configuration, number of layers, framing, joints and other components. The board should therefore be specified according to the required system performance rather than treated as a standalone fire barrier.
