Softwood is renowned for its versatility and strength. Sourced from all over the globe, with a large breadth of applications and a remarkably aesthetic appeal, softwood can be used across a broad range of internal and external projects – from furniture and flooring to decking, landscaping, external joinery and structural applications. Softwoods are more readily available and easily manipulated. They also develop at a quicker pace, leading to lower cost levels.

Sawn Timber

Sawn timber that has been specially dried, with a moisture content of 8 percent +/-2 percent. Only fresh knots are used in the production of these products, which are made from a top or middle pine wood. The product is ideal for edge-glued furniture panels and other products that will be exposed to the public.

Redwood S4S

Redwood is evaluated for its durability and resistance to termites and decay, both of which are immediately distinguishable due to the colour of the wood. The interior portion of the tree’s reddish-brown heartwood contains extractives that make it resistant to insects and rot.

Whitewood S4S

Whitewood lumber includes a number of different softwood species, primarily white fir but also pine, hemlock and spruce. It features high fiber strength and easy workability.

Eastern White Pine

Eastern White Pine is the most common craft wood. It is relatively cheap and easily available, from very knotty to totally clear. For these reasons, eastern white is used extensively in all areas of woodworking, cabinets, scrollsaw & craft work, folk art and even wood turning for table legs.
